Graphene 2024 Conference

From June 25th to 28th, 2024, our GREENCAP partners actively participated in Graphene2024, held in Madrid, Spain. The conference brought together world leaders, prominent researchers, and industries to explore the potential of graphene, 2D materials, and their applications.

One of our partners from BeD (Dr. Valentina Mastronardi, in the picture below) presented the research results on electrochemical double-layer capacitors (EDLC). This study introduced ionogel-type electrodes to improve the energy density and expand the temperature range of EDLCs. Ionogel-type electrodes, fabricated using ionic liquid as the liquid media, show high energy density and simplify manufacturing processes while improving device performance. Compared to conventional EDLCs, ionogel-type EDLCs exhibit superior rate capability and retain a higher energy density at increased power densities. They also demonstrate stability and performance at temperatures up to 180°C, surpassing traditional EDLC limitations. This research paves the way for advancements in EDLC technology through innovative electrode fabrication and ionic liquid-based electrolytes.
