We are excited to announce that GREENCAP has successfully completed its final milestones:
- Cylindrical Prototype Cells – SKL manufactured electrochemical double-layer capacitor prototypes using a novel design with ionic liquid-based electrolytes and curved graphene. Double-side carbon-coated aluminium electrodes were produced on an industrial line, scaled from 45 mm to 115 mm coating width, achieving: electrode loading: 6-8 mg/cm³ and density: 0.7–0.8 g/cm².
The electrodes were assembled into cylindrical D60 cells, filled with IL-based electrolyte, and tested. Full technical details are available in our latest report Cylindrical Prototype Cells, also available on our website here.
- Certification & Upscaling – GREENCAP has initiated REACH certification procedures to support the transition from laboratory-scale research to industry-ready supercapacitors prototypes. Upscaling efforts focus on IL-based electrolytes and advanced electrode materials such as few-layer graphene.
Congratulations to the consortium on achieving these final milestones! With this, GREENCAP takes its last steps toward delivering sustainable, high-performance supercapacitors for industrial applications.
